You are correct in saying by reoving the teens will break the system if you continue to try to use the old formula's with the new Direcimal system.
However, this is a new system after all, which means that there are new formulas used to work out equations and as easy if not easier ones than currently exist.
Yes, 15 now represents 25, but if you can remove everything you have been taught from your mind, the fact that the 'teens' are no longer a part of the equation, and had you not known about teens all along, there would be no difference. In fact, for visual learners, this should be a much easier concept to grasp.
I would like to hear your thoughts on any other parts of the Direcimal system? Was there anything you liked about the new system?
