Weeks Should Be 6-days Long

A 7-day week is an antiquated system that was implemented by the Babylonians, which selected 7-days due to the number of planets they could observe with the naked eye; the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn.

When assessing the ideal number of days a week should have, all current time cycles need to be taken into account, starting with the number of days in a year which is currently 365 ¼ due to how long it takes earth to make one complete rotation around the sun, with the ¼ being why we add an extra day to February every 4-years, to keep the seasons aligned.

Another cycle to take into account is the moon, which completes a rotation every 27-days and 7-hours, however, this is too large of a time chunk to manage effectively and the moons rotations are not in alignment with the earth rotations around the sun, which would eventually lead to changing seasons.

Also, there are 12-hour half days (24-hours total per day) and 12-months per year, if humanity can switch to the much easier and common-sense Base-12 system, then the ideal number of days in a week would also be easily divisible by 12.

Taking the above points into account, the ideal number of days in a week is 6 which allows for 60-weeks per year, 30-days per month, 12-months per year, and equates to 360-days per year, with a 35-day end month (36 leap year) which is an 11-day end week (12-days during a leap year) taking the total days per year to 365 with a 366-day leap year every 4-years.

Benefits of the 6-day week is that it also allows for a 4-day work week with 2-days of rest. By having 2-holidays out of a 6-day week equates to an extra 4.76% more holiday time compared to having 2-holidays out of a 7-day week. This totals an extra 8-hours of rest per week or an extra 480-hours of rest per year!

An added bonus of the 6-day week is that it is divisible by a 30-day month, therefore, the days of the week always fall on the same day of the month. For example, the 30th of every month will always be a Saturday (or the 6th day of the week).

Moving to a New Years Eve (NYE) celebration that is non-religious oriented should be a priority, therefore being held on the winter solstice for the northern hemisphere (summer solstice for the southern hemisphere) provides an ideal meaning, this moves forward the NYE date 11-days compared to the current day of celebration. The date which NYE should be held is the last day of December primarily being the 35th and every 4-years on the 36th.

The additional 5–6 days of the last week should be held as an annual festival that are public holidays, a time of happiness and joy for everyone to be with their families and/or friends to celebrate the year that had past and plan for the year that is ahead. An additional 5–6 names will be required for the last week of the year which is 11-days long (12-days leap year), to keep the months and seasons in uniform throughout every year moving forward.

In conclusion, the 6-day week not only makes sense numerically, it makes perfect sense to help reduce worker fatigue, increase morality, and takes a step in the right direction of life being simplified and easier to navigate.
